Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how SysGroup PLC ("SysGroup", "we", "us", "our") approaches the use of cookies and similar technologies on sysgroup.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Our Approach
We have deliberately built this website to minimise the use of cookies. By default — before you make any choice — we set no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. The only non-essential cookies this site uses come from Google Analytics and the LinkedIn Insight Tag, and we set them only if you consent using the banner shown on your first visit. We do not sell your browsing activity, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the button under Managing your choice below.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember user preferences, and to provide information to website operators about how their sites are used.
What This Website Sets
Until you make a choice, this website sets no non-essential cookies. We show a short consent banner on your first visit. If you select Reject, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics or advertising cookies are set. If you select Accept, we enable Google Analytics (described under Analytics below) and the LinkedIn Insight Tag (described under Marketing and Advertising below).
Strictly necessary cookies
When you submit our contact form, your browser stores a temporary session token strictly required to validate the submission and prevent abuse (such as spam protection). This token expires when your browser session ends. These are essential to the functioning of the form, are not used for tracking, and do not require consent under UK PECR rules.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4
If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Limited) to understand how visitors use our website — for example which pages are read, where visitors arrive from, and which links are clicked. This helps us improve the site and measure our marketing. We have configured Google Analytics not to build advertising profiles, and we do not send it your name, email address, or anything you type into our forms. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store your IP address. If you accept, it sets the following cookies:
- _ga — distinguishes one visitor from another; expires after 13 months;
- _ga_<id> — remembers the state of your current browsing session; expires after 13 months.
For details of how Google processes this data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Separately from cookies, when a document is downloaded from our website (for example a PDF linked from one of our emails), our server records an anonymous count of that download. This involves no cookies, is not linked to you or your browsing, and works the same whether or not you have accepted the banner.
Marketing and Advertising
LinkedIn Insight Tag
If you accept, we use the LinkedIn Insight Tag (provided by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company) to measure our LinkedIn advertising. It sets advertising cookies and shares limited data (such as your IP address, which LinkedIn truncates or hashes) with LinkedIn; we do not set it unless you consent, and never on our Investor Relations pages. For the cookies it sets, how long they last, and your controls, see LinkedIn's cookie table, the LinkedIn Privacy Policy, and your LinkedIn account settings.
Managing your choice
Your single Accept/Reject choice covers both the analytics and marketing cookies described above. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time:
Third-Party Embeds
Some pages may embed services hosted by third parties (for example, Microsoft Bookings for online appointment booking, or document viewers for our Investor Relations content). When you interact with these embeds, the third-party provider may set its own cookies under its own privacy and cookie policies. We only use embeds from established providers whose privacy practices we have reviewed.
Linked SysGroup Services
If you click through to one of our separate platforms (such as our support portal, recruitment portal, or any client-specific service environment), those platforms operate under their own cookie and privacy notices. This Cookie Policy applies only to sysgroup.com.
Managing Cookies in Your Browser
In addition to the consent controls above, you can manage how cookies are handled across all websites by changing the settings in your browser. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when a cookie is set. For guidance, please consult the help pages of your browser or visit aboutcookies.org.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if our use of cookies or similar technologies changes. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
